Barrie Brachfeld, Chief Financial Officer
Barrie has played a critical role in our pediatric center since its founding. With vast management experience spanning graphic design, printing, sales promotion, advertising, Information Technology, databases, purchasing and marketing, he was well-positioned to help Dr. Jennifer Shaw-Brachfeld, his wife, build our practice’s infrastructure. His educational background is as diverse as his professional experience, including a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from City University of New York (CUNY) and ongoing study in art and music abroad in Paris, France.
As a result of this wide-ranging expertise, Barrie oversees most non-clinical aspects of practice management, including all of the following:
- Human resources
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Contracting
- Information technology
- Purchasing
- Marketing
- Facilities management
Barrie is always busy supporting our physicians and other team members, from financial management to changing a light bulb now and then. He currently resides in Chatham, NJ, with Dr. Shaw-Brachfeld and their three children.
Joanie Roop, MSN, APRN, BC
Joanie enriches our practice with her passion for pediatric care, including CPR instruction, infant child safety, and support for special needs children and their families. Before joining the Touchpoint Pediatrics team in 2016, she spent 20 years as the Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist and Safe Kids Coordinator for special needs patients at Children’s Specialized Hospital. An RWJBarnabas Health facility, the hospital is recognized as a leading national provider of care for chronic illnesses, complex physical disabilities, and other special pediatric health challenges.
Joanie prepared for this role and her work coordinating staff efforts at our pediatric clinic with a BSN from Villanova University and an MSN from the University of Pennsylvania. She has also achieved the following certifications:
- Board-certified in pediatrics by the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC)
- Pediatric Advance Life Support
- CPR Instructor
In addition to her position at Touchpoint Pediatrics, Joanie teaches pediatric nursing as an assistant professor at Raritan Valley Community College. She is extremely proud of her two adult daughters, both of whom received outstanding care as patients of our practice.
